After having two emergency C-sections with her first two children, Amanda Orosco decided to have a scheduled C-section to deliver her daughter, Liliana. “I wasn’t excited about having another C-section, but I was thrilled to know it would allow me to donate my placenta to help others,” she says. “It really helped me cope with having another surgery.”
As a social worker, Amanda works with patients who have end-stage renal disease and are on dialysis. “I understand the importance of donation and couldn’t say no to an opportunity to help others,” she says. “I’ve worked with several patients who had difficulties with wounds healing, and knowing my donation could help them made me feel great.”
“Donating my placenta is one of the easiest things I’ve done, and it’s such a rewarding feeling,” she adds. “There are no risks involved, the process is simple, and Versiti ensures the donation is put to good use by helping someone in need. There are so many people with serious health conditions who can benefit from these donations. I’m grateful for the people who make it all possible.”
People need people, make a difference in someone’s life by donating blood.
