Thrombosis & Hemostasis

Understanding the mechanisms of blood clotting.

Thrombosis & Hemostasis Research

Hemostasis, Thrombosis & Vascular Biology includes the cellular and molecular mechanisms of normal blood clotting, pathological thrombosis and events impacting the integrity of vasculature and blood vessel development.

Versiti Blood Research Institute’s program includes basic and clinical research and is home to a number of important breakthroughs in understanding the mechanisms of the regulation of blood clotting. The work of Versiti’s clinical investigators has led to improved outcomes for patients with blood-related diseases, including sickle cell disease, hemophilia and Von Willebrand disease.
