Versiti Medical Sciences Institute’s (MSI) clinical investigators discover new treatments that make significant contributions to patient care locally, nationally and internationally.
As part of Versiti’s effort to advance clinical research, the MSI has established a Clinical Trials & Research Office (CTRO) to conduct clinical trials and research in a safe, compliant, expedient and cost-effective manner to enhance outstanding patient care.
Research at Versiti spans the clinical continuum from bench to bedside. The CTRO leverages its expertise in interventional, observational, and epidemiological and laboratory clinical studies. Other areas throughout the organization further support the CTRO and clinical researchers to deliver a comprehensive approach to clinical research.
Research areas include:
- Serologic testing for heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT)
- Diagnosis and management of alloimmune platelet disorders (neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia and post-transfusion purpura)
- Diagnosis of transfusion-induced acute lung injury (TRALI)
- Diagnosis of drug-induced thrombocytopenia, neutropenia and hemolytic anemia
