Versiti - Championing Diversity & Inclusion

Championing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Versiti is committed to advocating for diversity and inclusion within our organization and the communities we serve.

Versiti’s workforce and donor base include diverse individuals of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientation, religions, ages, abilities and education. We save more lives by cultivating an environment of diversity, equity, inclusion and sustainability for our employees and donors.

Our Commitment

Representation matters. As advocates for diversity and inclusion, we are committed to fostering equity and promoting healthcare access for all. We are committed to a collaborative, supportive and respectful environment in which all can participate and contribute.

Mission Statement

As a diversity champion, we believe all people have the right to be respected, have equal access to opportunities and resources, and are appreciated as valued members of their communities. We believe in enhancing lives through education, engagement, cultural learning and the appreciation of diverse talent and donors across our Versiti footprint.

Vision

Versiti is a leading multicultural organization with integrating perspectives from ethnically diverse employees and community partners. We strive to cultivate an environment that honors authenticity, acceptance and fairness that is guided by the diverse communities we serve. As part of this, we are committed to sustaining the supply of blood, organs, eyes and tissues to better serve ethnically diverse communities.

We at Versiti stand firm against actions that divide us.

That includes any behavior that intends to make those that look different, or think differently, feel like they cannot bring their whole selves to work. At Versiti, we are elevating our focus on both diversity and inclusion and I’m extremely proud of the work being done by our employees to proactively create a culture of inclusion within our walls and throughout the communities we serve. We must take steps to improve things for the next generation. In the end, there is one thing that unites us, and that is our sense of humanity, regardless of color, gender or political belief. There is no doubt in my mind that with empathy, authenticity and genuine deep human connections, we will be stronger together.

Diversity in Donation

Representation matters. Diversity of our donors is important for improved patient outcomes, as rare and uncommon blood types are often found in similar ethnic populations. Increasing these numbers helps us provide a better quality of life for patients of all races and ethnicities and may be the difference between life and death for a patient in need.

Versiti is proud to commemorate Donate Life Month (April), Minority Organ Donor Awareness Month (August), Sickle Cell Awareness Month (September) and other celebrations of minority donors throughout the year.
