CodeR for Students

Get involved with organ, tissue and eye donation.

CodeR for Students

There’s no better feeling than knowing you’ve helped someone else. There are many ways to give back to the community, but one that is rarely discussed among young people is the lifesaving gift of organ, tissue and eye donation.

Did you know...
  • One organ donor can save up to eight lives and one tissue donor can heal up to 75 people
  • More than 2,000 people in Wisconsin are waiting for an organ transplant
  • Anyone 15 ½ or older with a driver’s license or state-issued ID can register to be a donor

CodeR, or Classmates for Organ Donation Education and Registration, is a program focused on educating high schoolers about the lifesaving and life-enhancing gifts of organ, tissue and eye donation.

Through this program, you will:
  • Understand what it means to be a registered donor
  • Understand the importance of registering as a donor
  • Learn how the donation process works
  • Learn about the differences between organ, tissue and eye donation
  • Understand the importance of diversity in transplantation
  • Learn more about career paths in organ and tissue donation
