On a typical summer day, Dawn found herself in an extraordinary and life-threatening situation. She suffered a ruptured aneurysm while at work and was treated by first responders before she was rushed to the hospital.
Over the next four days, she received a remarkable 90 units of blood, platelets and plasma. She would not be alive today if not for the blood donors who helped to save her life.
Dawn is now a blood donor herself – grateful for the chance to save others. As an O-negative donor – which is the universal blood type, used in emergency situations – Dawn understands the amazing impact just one blood donation can make.
