Partnership will raise awareness about the need for lifesaving blood donations in Indiana
Versiti Blood Center of Indiana is excited to announce a new partnership with Butler University to raise awareness about the need for lifesaving blood donations. Under the new partnership, Versiti and Butler University will work together to develop robust blood drive programming on campus, healthcare career pathing, and a strong focus on diversity and inclusion program offerings.
“We are extremely proud to collaborate with Butler University as their official community blood partner,” said Chris Miskel, president and CEO of Versiti. “Versiti’s mission is deeply rooted in the communities we serve; through our mission alignment with Butler, we are committed to strengthening our work throughout Indiana to positively impact even more patients in need."
In addition to hosting on-campus blood drives and leadership programming, Versiti and Butler rolled out a co-branded mobile blood drive bus, making it even easier for businesses, schools, churches, and other organizations to host blood drives in the community. Versiti will also partner with Butler men’s basketball student-athlete Myles Tate as a featured student and community advocate.
“We are committed to the shared vision, goals, objectives and strategies of the partnership between Butler and Versiti Blood Center of Indiana,” said James Danko, president of Butler University. "Our partnership with Versiti enables the Butler Community to make a significant contribution of service locally."
Versiti Blood Center of Indiana provides blood and blood products to over 100 hospital partners throughout the state. To maintain a safe blood supply, Versiti Blood Center Indiana needs to see more than 2,500 donors every week. One donation of blood, which takes less than one hour, can help save up to three lives.
