Jessica has over 15 years’ experience in blood banking and joined Versiti in 2016 as the manager of Versiti Blood Center of Illinois’ Immunohematology Reference Laboratory (IRL). Since then, she has assumed roles of increasing responsibility, including director of IRL operations and director of biomaterials operations.
Her breadth of experience spanning multiple service lines and highly impactful project work at Versiti has uniquely qualified her for her current role as VP and chief quality officer. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she partnered with Cenetron Diagnostics in Austin, TX, to produce more than 5 million molecular transport medium tubes and played a significant role in addressing nationwide shortages of COVID-19 testing supplies. Jessica has also led the Beacon Biologics and Versiti Biomaterials teams in expanding the organization’s core cellular therapies capabilities, enabling us to accelerate innovation in the cell and gene therapy space.
In her role as VP and chief quality officer, Jessica leads all Versiti Quality initiatives and is responsible for quality assurance, quality management, regulatory affairs, safety, and health technology management.
Jessica earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of Florida, as well as a Specialist in Blood Banking (SBB) certification and Master of Science in Transfusion Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch. In 2022, she was awarded the Certified Advanced Biotherapies Professional (CABP) credential, becoming one of the first in the nation to earn this distinction from the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB).
