In his role, Derek provides direct leadership of the finance function, information services (IS), the Continuous Improvement Center of Excellence, facilities and supply chain, and corporate development.

Derek brings a wealth of financial, leadership and governance experience to Versiti. He has led teams across corporate strategy, wealth management and investments. He has spent more than 25 years of his career in the financial services industry.

Prior to his role at Versiti, Derek served as the senior vice president and chief investment officer for West Bend Insurance, a super-regional property and casualty insurance carrier, where he oversaw a portfolio that grew from $1.9 billion to more than $3 billion during his eight-year tenure. During the course of his career at Arthur Anderson, SC Johnson, Northwestern Mutual and West Bend, he exhibited a record of adding value and growth in every assignment.

Derek earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Marquette University and completed his MBA at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
