“I hope to bring this to the national level and educate others on the importance of organ and tissue donation. This is something that is so deep down in my core. I knew that this was my calling.”

Andrea Weisman

Andrea Weisman is passionate about organ and tissue donation. She first became involved with Donate Life Wisconsin in 2015 after surviving a near-fatal car accident. “I knew that I had to do something and be a part of it,” she says.

The same year, she met her best friend, whose husband received a double-lung transplant to treat cystic fibrosis. “I was in awe that someone I knew had to have such a traumatic thing happen and be able to get this miracle,” she says. “He battled against all the odds and has really thrived. You wouldn’t know meeting him that he’d gone through that.”

Andrea, who is involved in the pageant world, has made organ and tissue donation her platform and has spoken about donation at the local and state level. “I hope to bring it to the national level and educate others on the importance of organ and tissue donation,” she says. “This is something that is so deep down in my core. I knew that this was my calling.”

Every 10 minutes, someone is added to the organ transplant waiting list.

Approximately 113,000 men, women, and children are waiting for life-saving organ transplants. One organ donor has the power to save up to eight lives and change the outcomes of someone’s world forever by giving them a second chance. Additionally, tissue donation can save and improve the lives of up to 75 people with their gifts. You can make a huge impact by registering as an organ and tissue donor.
