Ohio State vs Michigan Blood Battle

Find a Blood Drive

A Buckeye tradition. A Blood Battle trophy. A bigger impact off the field.

Buckeyes, it’s time to defend our title.

Ohio State has won the Blood Battle four years in a row. This fall, Buckeye Nation has a chance to make it five — while helping provide lifesaving blood for patients right here in central Ohio.

From Oct. 19 through Nov. 25, donate blood with Versiti Blood Center of Ohio and help Ohio State take on Michigan in this annual lifesaving rally.

Ready to make it five straight wins? Find an upcoming Blood Battle blood drive and schedule your donation.

OSU Blood Battle

Three marquee drives. One big goal.

This year, three of the biggest Blood Battle events are happening at two iconic Ohio State venues. Together, these drives have a goal of 330 donations, with the potential to impact up to 990 lives.

More chances to make an impact.

Can’t make one of the big three drives? The Blood Battle runs through Nov. 25, with more opportunities to give throughout the campaign. Students, faculty, staff, alumni, Buckeye fans and members of the Columbus community can all join the battle.

Give blood. Get the shirt.

Donate during the Blood Battle and receive a 2026 Ohio State Blood Battle T-shirt as a thank-you for giving blood, while supplies last.

More than four decades of Blood Battle history.

Since 1982, Ohio State and Michigan have faced off each fall to see which university can collect the most blood donations before the big game.
