Abbott, Big Ten & Versiti have teamed up to save lives. The school that drives the most blood donations during the 2024 football season will be honored by Abbott at the Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game on December 7, 2024, with a $1 million donation to the school. The We Give Blood Drive challenge takes place from Thursday, September 26, to Friday, December 6, 2024, at blood drives and donor centers throughout Versiti’s five-state footprint (and beyond). Supporters of the participating universities are encouraged to show team spirit by donating blood in your school’s name. In addition to helping local hospital patients, the winning school will receive $1 million to advance student or community health.

Inviting your network of potential blood donors to one of our centers for your takeover day is a fantastic way to maximize your impact. If you (1) donated blood, or (2) presented to donate blood at a blood collection or blood drive location and was formally assessed by the blood center but your donation was unsuccessful, you will be offered a free one month subscription to B1G+ and will be entered to win a trip to the 2024 Discover Big Ten Football Championship Game on December 7th (two tickets, pre-game field access, hotel room for two nights and ground transportation).
