One Pride Blood Drive Brings Lions Fans Together to Save Lives at Ford Field

Detroit — December 17, 2025

Dec. 28: Detroit Lions, Versiti encourage community to help tackle winter blood shortages

Versiti Blood Center of Michigan, in partnership with the Detroit Lions, is mobilizing to tackle winter blood shortages by hosting the One Pride Blood Drive on Sunday, December 28, 2025. Lions fans, players, and community members will come together at Ford Field to make a lifesaving impact, blending the thrill of football with the roar of generosity.

Donors will have the opportunity to meet Lions mascot Roary, enjoy an appearance from the Detroit Lions Cheerleaders, and connect with Lions legend, Joique Bell—all while giving blood to support local hospital patients this season and beyond.

As a token of gratitude, donors will receive an exclusive, limited-edition One Pride Blood Drive commemorative football while supplies last.

“We’re proud to partner once again with the Detroit Lions to host the One Pride Blood Drive this December,” said Kristin Brenner, area vice president and senior director of blood operations at Versiti. “Lions fans are known for their grit, heart, and loyalty, and this drive is a powerful way to turn that team spirit into a lifesaving play for patients and families right here in our community.”

Donating blood only takes about an hour. Anyone aged 17 or older who is in good health and meets the eligibility requirements is encouraged to give. Parental consent is required for donors aged 16 and under to donate blood. Donors should bring a photo ID that includes their date of birth.
