Participating Western Michigan Chick-fil-A Restaurants to host blood drives from June-August

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (May 29, 2025) – Versiti Blood Center of Michigan and Chick-fil-A® Western Michigan are teaming up this summer for the 2nd annual ‘Chick-fil-A Showdown,’ a friendly competition between 11 local Chick-fil-A Restaurants to see which can collect the most lifesaving blood donations.

From June through August, each participating Chick-fil-A Restaurant will host a one-day blood drive, encouraging local donors to make a difference and help save lives. To make giving back a little extra rewarding, donors will receive three complimentary Chick-fil-A "Be Our Guest" digital offer cards, which are redeemable for free menu items.

With the summer months bringing a spike in traumatic accidents, surgeries, and other medical emergencies, the need for blood drastically increases. At the same time, donations often dip as the school year wraps up and regular donors travel or take a break. Versiti’s goal is to collect 350 units of blood throughout the competition to ensure local hospitals remain ready for emergencies.

“It’s more than just a competition - it’s about coming together as a community to help those in need,” said Kristin Brenner, area vice president and senior director of blood operations at Versiti. “Every donor is a hero, and we can’t wait to see which Chick-fil-A location earns bragging rights as the ultimate Showdown champion.”

Find an upcoming Chick-fil-A Showdown blood drive near you and participate in something truly lifesaving.
