Stanford University’s annual list of the top 2% of cited scientists worldwide was recently released, and Versiti Blood Research Institute (VBRI) is proud to share that several VBRI Investigators have earned the honor.
Citations, which appear in academic papers, are references made to earlier research. The frequency with which a researcher's work is cited in other peer-reviewed publications is a crucial metric for assessing their research impact and standing in the academic community. Publishing in a peer-reviewed journal and having others cite that work is critical in extending research and sharing the benefit with the public.
Although not the sole indicator of a researcher's quality and impact, the citations database stands out as a significant milestone worthy of celebration.
In the most recent update to the list, the following VBRI Investigators appeared:
- Brian Curtis, PhD, D(ABMLI), MT(ASCP) SBB
Senior Director, Diagnostic Hematology, Senior Investigator - Michael Deininger, MD, PhD
Mike and Cathy White Endowed Chair, EVP, Chief Scientific Officer - Bonnie N. Dittel, PhD
Dr. Gilbert C. White II Endowed Faculty Chair, Senior Investigator - Karin Hoffmeister, MD
Hauske Family Endowed Chair in Glycobiology, Deputy Director, Senior Investigator - Alan E. Mast MD, PhD
