Versiti Blood Research Institute Investigators Ranked Among the World’s Top 2% of Cited Scientists

January 26, 2024

Stanford University’s annual list of the top 2% of cited scientists worldwide was recently released, and Versiti Blood Research Institute (VBRI) is proud to share that several VBRI Investigators have earned the honor.

Citations, which appear in academic papers, are references made to earlier research. The frequency with which a researcher's work is cited in other peer-reviewed publications is a crucial metric for assessing their research impact and standing in the academic community. Publishing in a peer-reviewed journal and having others cite that work is critical in extending research and sharing the benefit with the public.

Although not the sole indicator of a researcher's quality and impact, the citations database stands out as a significant milestone worthy of celebration.

In the most recent update to the list, the following VBRI Investigators appeared:

The VBRI’s work is dedicated to hematology in all its facets, spanning basic, translational and clinical research, all with one goal: to make people’s lives better.

Basic research is conducted at VBRI, a state-of-the-art facility that gives investigators access to cutting-edge research equipment and related specialized services. VBRI is located on the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center campus, along with the Medical College of Wisconsin, Froedtert Hospital and Children’s Wisconsin.
