Lauren McClone

“It was a no-brainer to donate it to someone who needed it. I really don’t know why you wouldn’t do it, if you can.”

Lauren McClone

After scheduling her planned C-section, Lauren McClone received a call from Versiti, who broached the topic of donating her placenta. After doing some research and going through the details with the Versiti representative, Lauren made the decision to give it a go. “The overall experience was so easy; I really didn’t have to do much,” she says. “It was a no-brainer to donate it to someone who needed it.”

Now, Lauren encourages other expectant mothers who will deliver their babies via planned C-section to donate their placenta, which can be used to treat burns, diabetic ulcers and severe wounds. “I really don’t know why you wouldn’t do it, if you can,” she says. “You can help so many different people; I would highly recommend it.”

People need people, make a difference in someone’s life by donating blood.

We must rely on each other for the gift of blood, and patients in your community rely on the generosity of Versiti’s blood donors to help. Please consider scheduling an appointment to donate. If this is your first time, donating blood is quick, easy and relatively painless. And, it is a great way to give back and help patients in your community.
