Each year, the Colts proudly host the Bleed Blue Blood Drive, Versiti’s largest, single-day donation event. Hundreds of thousands of lives have been saved because of the donations made through this lifesaving event which is hosted at either the Colts Headquarters or at Lucas Oil Stadium — meaning fans, families and all other participants can get out and explore the field after they’ve donated. In addition to the on-field experience and exclusive stadium access, participating donors also receive limited-edition Colts memorabilia and the ability to meet the Colts Cheerleaders and the beloved mascot, Blue.

This one-of-a-kind lifesaving event is hosted at Lucas Oil Stadium — meaning fans, families and all other participants have the opportunity to get out and explore the field after they’ve donated. As a long standing Versiti partner, the Colts not only change lives in their communities today but are doing their part to shape the futures of Indiana’s student athletes. Every year, high school football teams from across Indiana take part in the Colts Leadership Challenge.
The challenge, which encourages student athletes to host local blood drives between Memorial Day and Labor Day, gives young leaders the opportunity to step up and make a difference both on and off the field. Versiti and the Colts present the three winning teams with a $1,000 sports equipment grant, and the coveted Colts Leadership Challenge Trophy.
By empowering these young leaders to adopt a heart of service, participating schools also respond to the dire need for blood donations — a need that is even more critical during the summer months, when donation levels drop by nearly 20%. The units collected during the Colts Leadership Challenge support Versiti partner hospitals in Indiana, connecting countless patients in need to lifesaving care.
