Dr. Flowers earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Indiana University Southeast and her Doctorate in Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. She completed her internship at Yale New Haven Health, her residency in Clinical Pathology at Penn State Health, and her fellowship in Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine at Penn State Health in Hershey, PA.

Board certified in both Clinical Pathology and Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine, Dr. Flowers has a strong interest in blood donor medicine and blood collection and processing. She joined Versiti in 2022 after serving as an Assistant Professor in Pathology at Ohio State University, where she specialized in therapeutic apheresis, transfusion medicine, and chemistry. Currently, as the Medical Director of Versiti's Special Patient Services, Dr. Flowers is committed to supporting patients with rare blood needs, including HLA-matched platelets and matched stem cell collections for bone marrow transplantation.
