Jacquelyn brings diverse experience to her role as a laboratory genetic counselor in the hematology genetics diagnostic lab. She contributes to laboratory stewardship initiatives and supports genetic variant interpretation and reporting, as well as test development and continuous improvement projects.

Prior to joining Versiti, Jacquelyn established the laboratory genetic counselor role at Cleveland Clinic, where she worked for more than a decade. During that time, she developed a genetic testing laboratory stewardship program, supported test development, process improvements, and clinical reporting in the molecular genetics and cytogenetics laboratories. She also advocated for expansion of the role and subsequently led a team of lab-based genetic counselors for nearly five years.

Jacquelyn also worked for seven years in direct patient care at Spectrum Health in Michigan, providing genetic counseling to patients in a high-risk prenatal clinic, a role that required outstanding communication skills and sensitivity in emotionally challenging situations. As the sole genetic counselor in the community, she provided frequent genetics education and support to other healthcare providers and trainees, both informally and through numerous presentations.

Her experiences have made Jacquelyn passionate about the power of collaboration, clear and effective communication, responsible use of healthcare resources, and continuous improvements to make our efforts extend as far as possible in helping patients.
