Versiti Clinical Trial Solutions (VCTS) and Taudia are partnering to explore new ways to support Alzheimer's disease research through blood-based biomarker testing. Working through its Quantigen campus, VCTS is establishing a laboratory-developed test based on Taudia's five-biomarker assay, an approach that could help researchers better understand the disease and identify participants for clinical trials.
The collaboration brings together Taudia's SPLASH™ protein biomarker technology and VCTS' specialized laboratory expertise. By measuring five biomarkers associated with Alzheimer's disease from a single blood sample, the approach may provide researchers with a more complete picture of the biological changes linked to the disease.
For researchers working to advance Alzheimer's treatments, having reliable tools to study these changes and evaluate potential clinical trial participants is an important part of moving discoveries forward.
“Behind every Alzheimer's research study are patients and families hoping for better answers,” said Doug Rains, Chief Scientific Officer, Versiti Clinical Trial Solutions. “Our partnership with Taudia brings together promising science and the laboratory expertise needed to study its potential in clinical trials. It's an opportunity to help researchers learn more about this complex disease and support the work toward future treatments.”
In an analysis of 101 plasma samples from the Bio-Hermes-001 study, Taudia found that its five-biomarker model was better at predicting whether brain scans would show amyloid buildup associated with Alzheimer's disease than pTau-217 alone. The findings suggest that combining multiple biomarkers may provide valuable information for Alzheimer's research, although further evaluation is needed.
“Alzheimer's disease is complex, and no single biomarker tells the whole story,” said Paul Hung, CEO of Taudia. “By measuring multiple biomarkers from a single blood sample, we aim to give researchers a more comprehensive picture of the disease while making testing simpler, faster, and more accessible. Our partnership with Versiti Clinical Trial Solutions brings together Taudia's innovative SPLASH assay technology and VCTS' clinical laboratory expertise, helping BioPharma customers accelerate biomarker validation, streamline clinical trials, and ultimately advance new treatments for patients.”
Through this partnership, Taudia and VCTS aim to help clinical trial sponsors explore how emerging blood-based biomarker approaches could support Alzheimer's research. The work reflects a shared commitment to advancing scientific understanding and creating new possibilities for the patients and families at the heart of that research.
The organizations will discuss the technology and its potential applications in Alzheimer's clinical research during the AD/PD™ Live Webinar, "Beyond Single Biomarkers: Expanding Alzheimer's Disease Testing," on Nov. 12, 2026, at 10 a.m. EST.
