Big Ten Schools Unite for Life-Saving Blood Donation Campaign

The We Give Blood Drive

In a bold initiative to address the most significant blood shortage in a generation, Abbott, the Big Ten Conference®, Versiti, and community blood centers nationwide have launched “The We Give Blood Drive,” a nationwide blood donation campaign.

From now until Dec. 6, 2024, the challenge is on: Which Big Ten® school can drive the most blood donations during the 2024 football season?

Participants can show their school spirit by donating blood at various centers nationwide on behalf of any of the 18 Big Ten® member schools. Donation totals will be tracked in real-time at BigTen.org/Abbott throughout the campaign, adding an element of friendly competition among schools.

The stakes are high, as the school with the most donations will be honored by Abbott at the 2024 Discover® Big Ten® Football Championship Game on Dec. 7, 2024, with a $1 million donation aimed at advancing student or community health.

Students, alumni, and fans are encouraged to participate in this vital effort to rebuild the nation’s blood supply while fostering school pride through spirited competition. Join the fight—donate blood and make a life-saving impact today!
