When Brittany Garvin’s daughter Katie was born, she experienced a serious, rare and life-threatening diagnosis of fetomaternal hemorrhage, during which she lost 80% of her blood in utero. Katie received three blood and platelet transfusions, saving her life.

“There is no doubt that she would not be here today with us without the generosity of blood donors,” Brittany says. “Today, my husband and I donate when we can in the hopes of giving other families precious life, or just more time with those who need it.”
