Step up to the Lions for Life Challenge — your team could win a $1,000 equipment grant!

Versiti Blood Center of Michigan has partnered with the Detroit Lions to inspire Michigan high school teams to host local blood drives this summer.

In Michigan, 560 lifesaving blood donations are needed each day to meet the needs of Versiti’s 80 partner hospitals across the state. In the summer, donations drop nearly 20 percent – creating a massive need for community support.

    The Detroit Lions and Versiti Blood Center of Michigan are calling on high schools across Michigan to host blood drives this summer. Rally your pride, help deliver lifesaving blood to Michigan patients, and compete for a $1,000 school grant. We’ll provide the playbook, you bring the heart, hustle, and grit.

    How to Win the $1,000 Grant

    Get your school in the game by hosting a blood drive between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and compete in these categories for a chance to win: 

    MVP: Most blood units collected overall 

    Most Improved: Returning Lions for Life school with the greatest year-over-year growth 

    Rookie of the Year: New to Lions for Life, with the most blood units collected 

    WILD CARD: All participating schools will also be entered to win a $500 school grant. Two schools selected!
